India got 1st ever Gold in Dressage event in Asian Games in 2023

India won its first ever Gold in Dressage event in the Asian Games in 2023, held in China. 

Earlier in 1986, India won a Bronze medal in it.

Equestrian (Horse Riding) was first introduced in 1982 at the Asian Games. India had won 3 gold medals at that time in eventing.

Since then, after a 41-year-long wait, finally in 2023, India once again won a gold medal in this sport. This time the gold medal came in dressage for India instead of eventing.

The Dressage event took place on Tuesday, 26 September 2023.

3) Hriday Chheda from Maharashtra

Horse name - Chinski

Points - 66.706


Out of these 4 players, the top 3 were picked for India's total score.

Thus, Anush Agarwalla with 71.088, Hriday Chheda with 69.941 and Divyakriti Singh  with 68.176 lead India to win gold.

Indian teams participated in all 3 events ( Eventing, Dressage, Showjumping) for Equestrian. 

Till now, they have won a single gold in Dressage Equestrian in a team competition.

An individual dressage final will be held on Thursday, 28 September, from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
