By winning the toss, MI decided to bowl first. 

In turn, LSG scored 203 runs at the loss of 8 wickets. However, MI was not able to chase the target. They were able to score only 191 runs at the loss of 5 wickets. 

As a result, LSG won the match. LSG beat MI by 12 runs. 

1st Inning

LSG scored a total of 203 runs in 20 overs at the loss of 8 wickets.

Mitchell Marsh the opener scored a brilliant 60 runs from 31 balls at a strike rate of 193.55. He smashed nine boundaries and two sixes.  He was the highest run scorer of the match. 

But he was caught behind in the very first over of the match. But no one including the bowler, the wicketkeeper, or the umpire shows interest in it. It was shown later on screen. It was Trent Boult's over.

Aiden Markram, the other opener also performed well in this match. He scored 53 runs from 38 balls with the help of two boundaries and four sixes.

Rishabh Pant, the team's captain once again failed to score big. He only scored two runs from six balls.

Other players scored average. Pooran scored 12 runs from 6 balls. Badoni scored 30 runs from 19 balls. David Miller scored 27 runs from 14 balls.

Abdul Samad scored 4 runs and Shardul scored 5 runs. Akashdeep was out on duck. Avesh Khan was not out at 2 runs along with Shardul Thakur.

Hardik Pandya, the captain performed brilliantly with the ball. He took 5 wickets at an economy of 9.00. He took the wickets of opener Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, captain Rishabh Pant, David Miller and Akashdeep. One of X users shared it, 


Three other bowlers of MI Trent Boult, Ashwani Kumar, and Vignesh Puthur took 1-1 wickets each.

Meanwhile, Deepak Chahar and Mitchell Santner remained wicketless.

2nd Inning

Now the MI has the target of 204 runs to win the match.

Due to a knee injury, Rohit Sharma was not playing the match.

Both the openers failed to perform. Will Jacks and Ryan Rickelton scored 5 and 10 runs respectively. Namar Dhir played well. He missed his half-century by four runs.

Suryakumar Yadav was the highest run scorer for MI in this match. He scored 67 runs in 43 balls at a strike of 155.81. He hit nine boundaries and one sixer. He was out on the ball by Avesh Khan.

Tilak Verma was retired out at 25 runs from 23 balls.

Hardik Pandya, the captain scored 28 runs from 16 balls. He hit two boundaries and one sixer. He was not out at the end. The other player not out was Santner at two runs from two balls.

In all, MI was able to score only 191 runs at the end of 20 overs at the loss of 5 wickets. As they were not able to chase down, they lost the match.

LSG bowlers - Shardul Thakur, Akash Deep, Avesh Khan, and Digvesh Singh all took 1-1 wickets each. Ravi Bishnoi was the only LSG bowler without any wickets.

Player of the match

Digvesh Singh, bowler of LSG was announced the Player of the Match. His stats are 1/21(4). It means he took one wicket in his four-over spell by giving 21 runs.
